Greyhounds are exciting dogs that are full of energy and determined in what they do. They have a love to run and release the energy that they naturally have. Greyhound racing is a safe environment in which they can do that. The race track is free from natural hazards such as holes in the ground, stones, and clumps of grass they can trip on and hurt themselves.

What many people do not realize outside of the greyhound racing community is that these dogs are very well cared for; more than the average dog lying around the house. What keeps a greyhound healthy and happy are things like a nutritious meal, play time and a lot of exercise. They truly live up to their capability in greyhound racing because that is what they get.

They run after the toy because they are instinctively programmed to do so. It is a challenge for them every time. Unlike us, they get more than one shot at achieving the goal of retrieving the toy. Greyhound racing symbolizes passion, determination and fearlessness. Greyhound racing embodies what many of us which we could do or have the courage to do. This is what makes the sport so exciting and gut wrenchingly real.
